Technology to Support Instructional Delivery

One of the most vital parts of the learning process is immediate feedback, and the Instant
Feedback with Socrative provides immediate feedback; hence, the reason I chose it. The tool
provides a teacher with an efficient way to monitor and evaluate the student’s’ progress in an
effective manner that saves time. While at it, the educator delivers fun and engages learners
through direct interactions. Thus, learners actively take part in their learning process. The tool
allows the teacher to ask quick questions ad receive instant feedback from the students. Thus, the
teacher is able to monitor the student’s level of comprehension, while the lesson is ongoing and
make necessary changes in the methods of delivering content so as to accommodate different
learning needs among learners and ensure that all students understand. The teacher can use on-
the-fly questions to assess learning and make adjustments to the teaching methods depending on

How I will Use Instant Feedback with Socrative
I will use Instant Feedback with Socrative to test student knowledge. I will give
periodical-short tests either at the beginning or at the end of the session. On some days, I will
leave the students with some resources or reading to review before the next lesson. Then, I will
start the lesson with a round of short pre-prepared questions to check their understanding. I may
also opt to use the on-the-fly questions. They will be multiple questions, while some will require
students to give short responses. I will control the pace of the questions ad during some lessons I
will opt to give the students time to work through the questions individually. I will also

interspace the session with questions. The technique will be aimed at sparking discussion and
making the lesson interesting, involving the learners to ensure that they do not lose track during
the lesson. All these ways of using this tool will ensure that I effectively keep my learners
engaged and promote active learning (Atkins & Brown, 2002).
Advantage of using technology tools to instruct students
Technology supports a shift from the old-school methods of teaching towards
personalized instructional methods that present instructional strategies and designs tailored to
meet the individual learning needs of students. Technology customizes content delivery to meet
personal learning styles of different learners, and this is different from the uniform lesson
planning in traditional classrooms. The emergence of technology has made it easier for teachers
to develop a lesson that is student-centered. Consequently, the “one-size-fits-all” teaching
techniques have been replaced with more effective teaching and learning methods that have
facilitated the mastery of content and enhanced student success. Technology facilitates the
creation of classrooms where the interests, abilities, learning needs, and aspirations of individual
students are met, thus enhancing personal growth and driving academic achievement among
students. Besides, technology allows for a project-based mode of learning as well as design
thinking. These learning methods increase students’ engagement, supports a deeper
understanding of content learned in class, and helps students retain learned content for a longer
period of time. Overall, technology drives a student’s academic achievement through
streamlining differentiated learning. A classroom comprises of learners with unique sets of
abilities, talents, and interests. Students thrive if they are allowed to shine in their own unique
ways.
