Travel and Auto Insurance

Travel insurance is a type of policy that reimburses a person when they suffer loss or
encounter various problems on their trip. Some of the problems that travel insurance covers
against include trip cancellations or delays and luggage loss (Danise, 2021). Additionally, travel
insurance covers medical expenses that one may incur during a trip. For instance, if one is on a
trip and suffers injuries resulting from a fall, their travel insurance will cover the medical
expenses that they will incur in treating the injuries.
There are, however, various health problems that travel insurance does not cover. In
particular, travel insurance does not cover against pre-existing medical conditions (Danise,
2021). For instance, if a person’s heart-related condition flares up during a trip, travel insurance
will not cover the expenses of treating the condition. Apart from pre-existing conditions, travel
insurance does not also cover against health problems that result from participation in high-risk
activities, such as scuba diving and jet-skiing.

Does auto insurance cover medical expenses?

Auto insurance is a contract between a person and an insurance company. It protects one
against financial loss in case they get involved in an accident or suffer loss resulting from theft of
their motor vehicle (Kagan, 2020). Auto insurance provides coverage for property, such as
damage of the car. It also provides coverage for liability. Liability includes all legal
responsibilities to others for property damage or bodily injuries (Kagan, 2020). Equally
important, auto insurance covers medical expenses that one incurs to treat injuries that they
suffer resulting from auto accidents. For instance, if one breaks a leg as a result of an auto

accident, auto insurance will cover all treatment expenses that one incurs. It will also cover
rehabilitation costs. Thus, coverage for medical expenses is a key component of auto insurance.
