Account Payable Manager Position

Job Description

Preparation of financial documents
The accounts payable manager will be required to prepare documents that deal with
the company’s budgets and finances. They will also be required to manage various
accounting functions, such as accounts payable, project accounting, accounts receivable, and
general ledger (Job Hero, 1). Additionally, they will be required to ensure that all of the
company’s financial records are accurate and are prepared and reported at the right time.
Manage vendor relations
The accounts payable manager will ensure that all the financial statements that they
receive from vendors and other service providers are accurate. They may also be required to
negotiate with the vendors for terms of payment that are favorable to the company (Job Hero,
1). As such, in addition to accounting skills, they need to be skilled at conducting
negotiations.
Team management
Account payable managers do not operate alone. Their success is dependent on the
success of the team that they lead. As team managers, they will be required to spearhead the
hiring of new talent, training them, and, monitoring and motivating them so that they perform
at their optimum all the time (Job Hero, 1).
Financial data analysis
The holder of the position will be required to examine and analyze financial records
of the company and how they are prepared with a view to improving the preparation methods
and the accuracy of the records (Job Hero, 1). Thus, the accounts payable manager should
have a keen eye for detail and knowledge of relevant accounting software programs.

Compensation and benefits

Compensation for the job will be commensurate with the skill level and experience of
the holder of the job. Benefits of the job will include a comprehensive medical plan that will
