ensure that it trains employees on how to handle the changes. When new employees join an
organization, they must be trained to ensure that they are effective in their new positions. New
employees must learn how to function as a team. Learning is both formal and informal.
However, informal learning methods may not be appropriate. For example, when learning how to
operate new machinery, employees must be taught how to handle the equipment. In such a case,
informal learning may not be appropriate.
In the real world, technology is always changing. It is therefore important to ensure that
employees are trained on how to handle new technology. In the wake of the COVID-19
pandemic, many employees have been forced to work remotely (McKinsey & Company, 2021).
The implication is that that there has been a need to teach employees how to work and
collaborate effectively. Employees have had to be taught how to use various technology tools
such as Team Viewer (TeamViewer, 2021). In some organizations, employees have also had to
be taught the use of video conferencing tools such as Zoom. COVID-19 has thus highlighted the
dynamic nature of the work environment and the need to ensure that employees adapt to various
changes.
