How might you apply this information to your life in the future?

Gathering information is a huge part of one’s life as a student. Throughout my scholarly
life, I will be required to find and gather information. As a result, this week’s readings are
important in helping me ensure that I can gather information as I undertake
scholarly research (Von Winckelmann, 2015). One thing that I found helpful is the
detailed description of the university library. The library is digital and this means that
instead of accessing physical books, the books are accessed in various digital formats.
The digital era has been characterized by a movement from paperwork to digital content. I
like the fact that the university library does not close down. One can access information
any time of the day for as long as they have a stable internet connection (Von
Winckelmann, 2015). The university library also has many databases and this means that
it is rich in information. I believe that in future I will be able to complete research by
exploring various databases and getting the much-needed information.
What insights have you had?
I have gained insights into then services offered by the university library. The
university library gives one access to a variety of resources. The resources are primarily
digital and can be accessed through the computer. Among the resources are scholarly
journals, e-books, newspaper, videos, and images (Von Winckelmann, 2015). The library
also offers reference services that enable learners conduct research with ease. There are
various ways through which one can contact the librarian. One can either use email, chat,
or phone reference. I believe by opening up various communication channels, it is easy
for the students to reach out to the library and have some of the issues examined in detail.
I plan on ensuring that I raise any issues that I may encounter during the research process
to boost my research. I am also keen on ensuring that I use the research guides provided

in the library. When beginning any form of research, one needs to ensure that they have a
collection of resources. With the research guides, it is easy to gather the resources. One
does not need to struggle with a topic while they can easily use the research guides.
