To start, you canAfter completing the Pretest for Attitudes Toward Computers in Healthcare (P.A.T.C.H) assessment, my score was 87. According to Kaminski (2019), a score of between 87 and 100 points indicates that an individual is confident in their ability to use technology tools and that they can adapt to the use of these tools to enhance inventiveness and execute routine procedures. Every day in my profession as a nurse, I use computers to perform routine procedures, and they help boost my creativity when performing daily tasks. Kaminski (2019) also states that a score within the range of 87 to 100 indicates that an individual understands the inimitable value of using computers in society and is committed to the use of technology in healthcare. The two areas where I feel I have a gap are graphic programs and Telehealth systems. I
plan on improving these skills within the next six months as this will help boost my technology
literacy skills. I will register for a short course that will take two hours every day and extend for
six months. For the first three months, I will take online classes on graphic programs. Boosting
my skills in this area will be instrumental in my career. Bridging this gap in my knowledge set
will help enhance my efficiency in computer use. I will then devote the remaining three months
to boost my skills and knowledge set in Telehealth systems. Telehealth improves patient
satisfaction by providing access to care and medical resources, especially to patients in rural
areas (Gajarawala & Pelkowski, 2020). As a nurse, patient satisfaction is my priority in
providing care; hence my interest in Telehealth. Further, Telehealth nursing helps coordinate
healthcare delivery in the United States (Bashir & Bastola, 2018). Thus, I will improve these two
areas as they will help me become a better nurse.
