To start, you canThe 15-year-old child needs to visit a medical practitioner at least once per year for a full
routine check-up. According to Maulana & Pradana (2018), teens ages 15-17 should see the
doctor once a year. A full check-up ensures that the teen is developing normally and is healthy.
The 50-year-old mother also needs routine check-ups at least once per year. Once a woman turns
fifty, some of the recommended screening tests include blood pressure, blood sugar, colon cancer
screening, a mammogram, a pelvic exam, and a pap smear. This also applies to the grandmother.
However, she should not have a mammogram as this is not recommended for women past the
age of sixty-five. If she has had negative pap smears in the past, this test is also not
recommended.
Based on the assessment, there are certain health risks for each of the family members.
First, the teen engages in rigorous physical activity with peers. This is likely to lead to
unintentional injuries. Study shows that unintentional injuries are the leading causes of death and
disability among children and teens (World Health Organization, 2018). The mother has not had
any cancer screening or pap smear done since she was in her thirties. She has not had routine
check-ups and only visits the doctor when feeling unwell. She is at risk of lifestyle-related
conditions as she does not engage in any physical exercise. Neither does she eat healthily. She is
experiencing sweating at night, fatigue, and belly fat weight gain, and she is likely experiencing
menopause. The grandmother does not exercise and is at risk of reduced physical and strength
endurance.
