The operating expenses of Walmart consist of Sales, Generals, and Administrative.
There is an increase in Sales, Generals, and administration for the 2017 financial year, and
that is an indication that the company is performing well. The main contributors to the
fluctuation include the changes taking place in the regulations and demands from the consumers.
Question 2
From the review, I learned that the emerging market and the line of products go hand in
hand with the marketing strategy that will be used. The main aim is to save on the cost of
marketing and reduce the supply chain of the product to save on the cost of production. As
the company aims at reducing the production cost, it equally aims at meeting the utility of the
consumers.
Question 3
From SEC 10K, Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability increase the total cost
of the company. Such is because they are treated as expenses that the organization incurs in its
line of operation. The company will have to pay the expenses directly to the relevant bodies
responsible and will be recorded under the current expenses of the company.
Question 4
Contingencies and liabilities are probable to take place as they are unforeseen. Walmart
has been having a decrease in its current liabilities as it has been in a position to write off some
of its debts and acquire new assets. Contingencies have been of great assistance in the mitigation
of the company against risks and uncertainties. In auditing, the contingencies are of great

importance in the mitigation of the errors that are detected in the books of accounts and
other financial documents.
