communicate the structure of the paper because they dictate the number of paragraphs. Fixing a
problem in a topic sentence entails developing a solid thesis statement.
In paragraph three, the in-text citation after the quote shows that the author is presenting
her own arguments, and it was effective because it explains how patients should act when
sexually harassed. There are three paragraphs in the essay that talk about the topic, and two of
the paragraphs describe the problem. The author spent much time describing the problem, and
she persuades the reader that the solution will work by encouraging them to report sexual
harassment incidents. The essay does not raise any questions about the nature of the present
assignment because it was well-written.
