Consciousness and Artificial Intelligence

The semester has been interesting because I have had an opportunity to learn new
concepts. It is vital to acknowledge that I have been able to gain insightful ideas in the fields of
artificial intelligence and consciousness. Notably, the semester has been the most valuable to
learn because I was valuable topics that will change my life positively. Remarkably, I have
learned how artificial intelligence developed in the mid-20 th century, and a British mathematician
played a vital role in its development (Artificial Intelligence, 2018). Additionally, I have learned
that consciousness is essential in implicit memory, which dictates the information we can
remember.
A critical examination of the topics I learned this semester indicates that they are valuable
and the most interesting for me is consciousness. One of the reasons why consciousness was
interesting to me is because it helps me understand how I can control my behavior and
understand my surroundings. Additionally, the topic of consciousness helps me understand
implicit learning, which is learning without awareness (Nick & Angus, 2012). It is vital to
acknowledge that memory priming occurs even when an individual is in an unconscious state.
Also, the topic of consciousness was interesting because it explains that if consciousness plays a
causal role in the behavior of human beings, then it is possible to detect consciousness in other
people by observing the changes in brain activity.
Consciousness as a topic can be applied to one’s personal life to help one understand
their behaviors. Also, at the workplace, employers can use consciousness to have a better
understanding of their employees, including their ability to remember past events. Additionally,
artificial intelligence can be applied at work to make processes faster, especially through the use
of robots.
