Don Quixote Response Paper

Don Quixote is a comedy based on the life of a character known as Don Quixote. The
dynamics of the comedy are very simple. The main character, Don Quixote, reads many
romances which he believes in. he thus strives to live them out, making his life adventurous and
funny in equal measure. The paper explores three of the funniest episodes in the comedy and
what makes them interesting.
One of the funniest episodes involves an exchange between Don Quixote and Sancho.
Don Quixote sees giants. Sancho tries telling him that those are not giants but rather windmills.
Sancho further states that what seemed to Don Quixote’s eyes as arms were the sails. As the
wind blew, it turned the windmills, making them appear like giants with big arms. Don Quixote
saw the windmills from a distance. However, he was convinced that what he had seen were
giants. Even after going near the objects, he still believed that he had seen a giant. It is funny
how convinced e was that those were giants. When he saw the great sails move at close range, he
exclaimed, wishing that the arms of the giant could flourish.
It is funny how Don Quixote is described in chapter one. He is described as a man who
was on leisure all year round. This seems like a polite way of saying that he was lazy. During his
leisure, he was a man who loved reading boos of chivalry. He did so with a lot of devotion and

pleasure. He enjoyed reading the books. The books almost made him forget his life as a hunter.
He became obsessed with the books that he chose to sell many acres of land that he could
otherwise cultivate just to acquire money for more books. It is funny how e decides to sell land
to et more money for books.
Another episode is when the housekeeper tells Don Quixote that the devil himself had
carried the books away. This was in response to the question she had been asked regarding the
room where he kept his books. In a previous episode where Don Quixote had engaged in some
weird things, the housekeeper had burned to ashes all the books that he had been reading. He
later woke up after two days of sleep and immediately asked for his books. Without even
blinking, the housekeeper said that the books had been taken away by the devil. He is quite
hilarious. It is even funnier that she expected him to believe her. His niece, however, corrected
the housekeeper and said that it was a magician and not the devil. He came and took the book
with him. He had even said his name. As if already familiar with such occurrences, Don Quixote
replied that the magician must have said Friston. The housekeeper ten said that whatever name
the magician had said ended with ‘ton.’ This is quite funny.
Overall, these are some of the funny episodes in Don Quixote. The character engages in
hilarious acts. He is a funny character who makes funny moves throughout the novel, making it a
comedy. Despite Don Quixote acting in some outright stupid ways, he is still referred to as your
worship by Sancho. The character makes this one of the best comedies.
