Explain what bullying means to you? 

Bullying means the intimidation that the vulnerable and the weak are subjected to by
stronger people. It refers to the mistreatment and the domination that individuals, especially
young people, have to go through in different institutions. Bullying is a result of the imbalance of
physical and social power that results in some people being disadvantaged. The imbalance of
power results in aggressive and hostile behavior directed toward the disadvantaged members
of society.
How would you describe a bully and a victim of bullying?
A bully is an individual who is advantaged by the imbalance of power. A bully thus uses
the power to intimidate others. A bully can also be described as a person who exhibits certain
behaviors that are driven toward hurting others emotionally, mentally, or physically. A victim of
bullying is an individual who is hurt emotionally, physically, or mentally by the actions of a
bully. A victim of bullying is disadvantaged by the imbalance of power that exists in society.
What treatment options or prevention methods are available for bullying?
Bullying can be prevented by ensuring that communication lines are open. Parents and
authorities should take action against the perpetrators of bullying. Society should also model
appropriate behavior especially to the younger generation (Farrington, 1993). Treatment options
include counseling and therapy. Victims of bullying should be counseled appropriately.
Intervention and ensuring that the victim is not in close proximity to the bully can also help
address the problem.

Discuss the impact on a family when a middle generation parent is caring for a child and
an aging parent.
Caring for a child and an aging parent may result in an excessive financial burden
(Williams, 2004). The middle-aged parent is expected to provide for the needs of both the aging
parent as well as the child. In the wake of various economic challenges, one may find it hard to
satisfy the needs of both the parent and the child.
