stakeholders that will be in attendance about speech and language development in children aged
4-8 years. My goal would be to present the information in the most meaningful and
understandable manner and ensure educators comprehend the main ideas that I would present,
including typical and atypical patterns of language and speech, the sounds appropriate at each
age from 4-8 years, educational activities/exercise that could be used at home to support the
development those sounds, how speech impacts literacy, and additionally local/community
resources for families to support speech and language development.
My plan to achieve all these goals is to start by clearly explaining the graphic organizer’s
purpose and what it aims to achieve, for example, to inform them (educators) about the atypical
and typical patterns of language development at ages 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8, and why this knowledge is
integral. Helping the audience understand the purpose and relevance of the graphic organizer can
help in winning their attention. Therefore, after getting them and introducing the topic, I would
go straight to highlighting the key information contained in the graphic organizer. I would also
engage the audience by encouraging them to ask questions that I quickly revert to, plus
participate in discussions. Questions and discussions can help me gauge the audience’s
understanding and resolves potential misconceptions and concerns surrounding the topic
(Wolsey, Lenski, & Grishman, 2020). Finally, I plan to support my presentation with visual aids,
including charts and images, to make them understand complex information or to emphasize
specific points.
