maltreatment, and vulnerability to domestic stresses. However, new research shows that
unfortunate childhood encounters outside of the home, such as victimization, have comparable
negative impacts on physical, mental, and public wellbeing throughout its life.
Emotions can influence a person’s development already before they are born as a result of
the apparent hue of their complexion, and their youth face diverse circumstances. We are
multifaceted creatures whose lives represent the interconnections of our numerous social
categories, including time of life, sexuality, sex, socioeconomic status, and spirituality. The long-
term impact of persecution, such as xenophobia, xenophobia, sexism, homosexuals, and religious
bigotry, has substantial ramifications for societies and is exacerbated greatly among individuals
that have traditionally faced persecution.
