similarities and differences. Both books have information relating to violence, manipulation in
addition to power of memory.

In both the works, men in power adopt violence to attain their objectives. In
Shakespeare’s play, we see Macbeth turning to kill in order to satisfy his desires whereby
O’Brien uses the Party who uses torture with an aim of influencing Winston.
In both the works, we see manipulation being a key highlight. We see Lad Macbeth and
particularly when relating with her husband and through the Party meant to control information
flow to Ocenia citizens. Lady Macbeth aims at manipulating Macbeth whereby she wants him to
do as she please while the Party is trying to manipulate history with an of influencing the present.
In “1984” deception and manipulation are key highlights. The tyrannical government
plays a central role in carrying out deceptive tactics. People are constantly watched by the
