Research Topic, Objective/Purpose, and Research Question(s)
The study’s primary purpose is to establish the adverse effects of entertainers on the well-
being of athletes and employees. The study addresses the following research question: how do
entertainers negatively affect the well-being of athletes, which consists of aspects such as
confidence and self-esteem.
Variables
Dependent variables used include self-esteem and confidence, which affect the
performance of athletes, while the independent variable is the attractiveness of the entertainers.
Hypotheses
Null Hypothesis (H 0 ): Trendy entertainers do not influence the well-being of athletes.
Alternate Hypothesis 1 (H 1 ): Charismatic entertainers are viewed as honorable by the audience,
affecting the well-being of athletes.
Alternative Hypothesis 2: Exposure to subtle information about athletes affects their
performance.
Potential Ethical Issues
In conducting the research, numerous ethical issues must be considered. One of the issues
is about informed consent and voluntary participation. The researchers must ensure they seek the
participants’ consent to participate in the study (Arifin, 2018). Coercing of participants during
recruitment is prohibited. Other ethical issues may stem from the anonymity and confidentiality
of the participants. The researchers ensure that the participants’ identities are not publicly
revealed.
Solutions to the Ethical Issues

The ethical issue of informed consent and voluntary participation can be resolved by
providing potential participants with consent forms, which helps them understand what is
expected of them in the study, what the study entails, and potential risks (Cypress, 2018). Only
participants who have filled out the consent forms should be allowed to participate in the study.
Regarding the anonymity and confidentiality of participants, the researchers should use secure
information systems to prevent unauthorized access to confidential information revealed by
participants.
