Influence of Entertainers on Athletes and Employees

Research Topic, Purpose, and Research Question
The study’s main purpose is to establish the influence of entertainers on the well-being of
athletes and employees. The study answers the question: “what is the impact of entertainers on
the well-being of athletes?” The term “well-being” includes aspects such as self-esteem and
confidence.
Variables
Dependent variables: self-esteem and confidence are the two dependent variables used. Self-
esteem affects the performance of athletes and employees, and confidence occurs when
entertainers shower star athletes with praises and despise amateur athletes (Glimayres, 2017).
Independent variables: the only independent variable used is athletes’ attractiveness.
Remarkably, attractive entertainers have a greater influence on the audience, and thus the
information entertainers reveal about them is viewed as accurate and superior.
Hypothesis
Null Hypothesis (H 0 ): Attractive entertainers do not affect the well-being of athletes.
Alternate Hypothesis 1 (H 1 ): Attractive entertainers are trusted by the audience hence affecting
the well-being of athletes.
Alternative Hypothesis 2: Exposure to sensitive information about athletes affects their
performance.
Research Limitations
Firstly, the study fails to explain the type of information that entertainers are supposed to
reveal about athletes and employees and sensitive information that should be kept confidential.
Additionally, the study fails to explain the measures media sites should take to regulate the

revelation of sensitive information by entertainers. Also, the study fails to explain the steps
athletes should take when they feel entertainers violate their well-being.
