INTS 4350-Discussion 7

I will be graduating at the end of this semester, and I have been looking forward to this
time for a long time. My decision to pursue University Studies was informed by my passion for
Human Resource, Organizational Leadership, and Integrative Studies. I decided to make myself
more employable by going back to school and gaining more skills and knowledge that would
make me competitive in the field. Now that graduation is fast approaching, I feel that I have the
skills to embark on a career path that will be fit for my family. I want to change careers and join
an organization that will allow me to lead people through human resources or
management. I am optimistic that I will find a job that will give me the experience I require to
establish my own company. I do not think that I want to be employed for long.
I do not want to rush into first starting a new business before I have gained the necessary
experience. Thus, the next step upon graduation is to seek employment in a field that is relevant
to my career qualifications. According to Merz, Schroeter, & Witt (2010), starting a company
requires personal and professional preparedness. On a personal level, I will require capital and
time. However, professionally, I will take some time to acquire the experience I will require to
run my own start-up company. I am confident that after several years, I will have acquired the
necessary experience to take on higher risks in my career. Overall, the upcoming graduation will
open many opportunities for me, both personally and career-wise, and I am excited to take on the
next chapter.
