Medical Technology Advances

Aware that there have been extensive development of medical apps and gadgets such as
iBGstar, eLeg, virtual colonoscopy, robotics surgery, and artificial retina that make
healthcare delivery more convenient, decentralised, accurate, and timely thus speeding up the
day when humanity will have Zero Stage Medicine.
Concerned that such apps and gadgets, while useful, are relatively expensive and, therefore,
out of reach for many people particularly in the developing countries and also that they are
prone to malicious virus attacks which may disrupt health care delivery at crucial stages.
Calls upon governments and international institutions to help in making important medical
apps and gadgets available in the market at affordable prices and more secure from virus
attacks.
Proposes that World Health Organization develops a plan that would facilitate quick review
and adoption of these technologies worldwide in a timely and safe manner.
Urges action on building robust health infrastructure in that makes it easy for new medical
technologies to be adopted.
Suggests governments, international bodies and donors invest more in medical technology
research in order to realize more medical inventions that would allow for quicker and earlier
diagnosis of diseases.
