The website explores the topic of patient safety and discusses the impact of culture on
patient safety as well as the role of human error and human factors in patient safety and how
these two can be reduced to ensure that the safety of patients is optimized. The site was created
by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, an organization that advances excellence in
healthcare and strives to make healthcare safer. The information is contributed by experts in the
medical field, and the organization also collaborates with the U.S. Department of Health and
Human Services and other partners to accomplish its mission. The information is timely as it was
published on March 16 2020.

The website explains the importance of patient safety. It terms patient care as a vital
component of quality nursing care. It is peer-reviewed, and this provides quality information that
is founded on empirical research and wide studies in the nursing sector and the wider health care
sector. The information was last published in 2003, and is thus not a current resource.

The site explores technology used in patient care and how it can be used to enhance
patient safety. The use of technology can also introduce errors that can have adverse effects on
patient safety. The peer-reviewed article explains how nurses can optimize the benefits of using
technology while minimizing the errors and adverse effects. The site provides quality
information and was published in 2008; not a current resource but a useful one as it provides
information that is relevant in the nursing practice today.

WHO uses the site to explain the concept of patient safety and its relevance to health
care. WHO is an organization that is mandated to direct matters relating to international health. It
works with experts to provide current information on health issues. The input by many experts
ensures that the information provided on the website is of high quality and current.
How would you suggest sharing the information with your selected group? Why?
I would share this information with the staff virtually through a zoom meeting. I prefer
this channel because we will have an opportunity to discuss the information and see how it can
be done practically. Sending emails for the staff to read may not be as effective as discussing the
information hence the reason I choose a virtual meeting to share this information.
