leadership model has leadership values that I esteem at the personal, interpersonal,
organizational, and societal levels. My values at these levels are honesty, responsibility,

Individual level
At the individual level, the most important value is honesty. Honesty goes beyond telling
the truth. It includes following rules and always doing the right thing. From my childhood to
adulthood, honesty has been one of my core values that I have never thought of
compromising regardless of the circumstances. Honesty makes me feel good about myself.
Sometimes, speaking the truth can result in people around you feeling uncomfortable.
However, at the end of the day, your mind is always clear that you have done the right thing.
As a servant leader, honesty is not just about feeling good about oneself. Honesty fosters an
environment of open communications. I have learnt from experience that honesty begets
honesty. When the leader is honest, those under them will also be honest. A work
environment where everyone is honest with each other reduces conflicts and improves
productivity. Honesty is also an asset for the organization. Being honest with customers and
shareholders improves the image of the organization and its leader. Hiding bad information or
not following government rules and laws can be costly for organizations and their leaders.
Thus, I strongly believe that every servant leader should develop high levels of honesty for

their own well-being, the well-being and success of those working under them, and for the
success and image of the organizations that they lead.
Interpersonal
My most important interpersonal value is being responsible. A responsible person is a
dependable and reliable person. As a leader, it is important that people under you know that
they can depend on you to perform your duties effectively and efficiently. For instance, a
leader who always completes their tasks on time and meets or exceeds expectations in their
work will inspire their juniors to follow suit. A responsible leader is also one who honors
commitments. Such leaders arrive on meetings on time and deliver on all of their promises.
With regards to their relationship with employees, they ensure that they respond to requests
in a timely manner regardless of the nature of the requests. Overall, a responsible leader earns
the trust of their employees and fosters a positive work environment.
Organizational
I believe that the most important value in an organization is ambition. Ambition is a
strong desire to be successful or to excel at something that one is doing. A culture of ambition
ensures that everyone in the organization is striving to be the best they can be. No success is
enough for an ambitious person or organization. People who work in an ambitious
organization try to be as productive and as innovative as possible. Such qualities help the
organization to achieve its goals and beat competition. Unlike unambitious people who may
be comfortable with average results, ambitious people and organizations are always striving
to be better and bigger. Such mentality forces its employees to motivate themselves and get
out of their comfort zones. It also fosters team-spirit as everyone knows that they need to
work together to achieve the goals of the organization.

Societal
At societal level, the most important value is helpfulness. A servant leader should take
interest in those around them both inside and outside of the organization. At any given time,
there is always someone who needs some help. Taking interest in the affairs of other people
puts a leader in a position where they can offer help to other people. The help could be part of
the organization’s corporate social responsibility or the leader’s own personal initiative. For
instance, a leader could influence their organization to donate to a charity that provides food
and clothing to homeless people. Within the organization, the leader can set aside time to
mentor interested employees so that they can grow in their personal and professional lives.
When leading performance of given tasks within a team, a servant leader should be ready to
help other members of the team who may need to help in order to perform their tasks
effectively.
