Reasons Why I Deserve a Scholarship

Growing up, my life was defined by all-roundedness and commitment. Having been
brought up as a firstborn in a family of four children, I took up the responsibility of a deputy
parent. Though not in formal employment, my parents managed to see me through elementary
school to high school, which allowed me to interact, learn, and become the person I am today.
Getting good academic grades amidst financial constraints and poor living conditions indicates
that I would do better if granted a funded scholarship. Therefore, I believe I deserve this
scholarship because it will enable me to remain focused on my education without worrying too
much about financial challenges at home and how to pay my tuition fees.
I am committed to excellence and wish to have a chance for a brighter future. My
academic qualifications are a plus to why I should be awarded this scholarship. I achieved a 3.64
GPA– a dean’s list qualifies me to join a tertiary-level educational institution. I am goal-oriented
and believe that if granted an opportunity, the scholarship will help me realize my dream:
graduating from community college with a high GPA and eventually transferring to a four-year
college. Attaining solid academic qualifications and exposure will enhance my competencies and
allow me to give back to society in a million ways. I am motivated and would wish to contribute
toward empowering the community as a whole. I deserve this scholarship because I represent a
good return on investment. The scholarship will help me realize my dreams.
