The topic of discussion this week is inserting and formatting images. Images improve the
appearance of presentations. Presentations are supposed to be aesthetically pleasing, and images
capture the viewers’ attention and deliver the ideas that have been demonstrated in the slide.
Item B
Many types of images can be added to presentations, and their filename extensions
differentiate them. The commonly used ones are jpg,. png, pcx, .bmp, .gif,. To insert an image
into a slide, one must go to that particular slide. However, the slide master view can be used in
scenarios where the image must appear on all slides (Chapter 11, n.d.).
Images can be added from files saved on the computer or online if the computer is
connected to the internet. Using too many pictures makes the presentation look amateurish
(Chapter 11, n.d.). The picture’s placement and appearance can be adjusted according to the size
of the slide. The edges can also be formatted and improved through different styles, borders, and
effects. The images’ sharpness, brightness, color, and contrast can be adjusted (Chapter 11, n.d.).
Through the features available, one can create and edit to accomplish the desired effect.
Item C
Adding and editing features allows individuals to achieve many functions. With
continuous practice, one can learn the skill of making presentations more appealing, breaking
monotony from the various text (Gniadek & Desjardins, 2004) . Presentations allow the use of
notes, which, when used in conjunction with images, deliver the thoughts and ideas of the

presenter with ease. Images, notes, and audio options in presentations help create audiovisual
presentations that improve memory and engagement besides appeal (Gniadek & Desjardins,
2004).
