To start, you canI found it easy to read the article’s title, introduction, and background. The article I
selected did not have an abstract. Thus, I read the introduction and the background provided to
understand what the article entails. I found it easy to start with the first two paragraphs because I
was able to determine the relevance of the article to my research. I then read the conclusion. A
conclusion summarizes key issues covered in an article, and I found it useful in determining the
major contents as well as the relevance of the entire article to my research.
The article I selected did not have a materials and methods section. I would have
struggled with reading the methods section, but since that was not in the article, I did not struggle
with any steps while reading. The article was short and easy to follow through from one step to
the last.
As I read through the article, I found certain concepts harder to grasp compared to others.
For instance, I had to read the international space law treaties, the outer space treaty, and the
moon treaty more than twice to comprehend exactly what they are about. However, other
concepts were not challenging, and it was easy to relate the concepts covered in different parts of
the article.
Overall, the article covers space mining and exploration. The United States and other
nations faring space are in a pivotal moment that is historical. Space mining is increasingly
becoming a reality (Skauge, 2019). Thus, interested nations are enacting and agreeing to sign
binding multilateral agreements that will provide a framework on how to govern space. The
article explains how such agreements will ensure stability for private companies and nations and
their activities in space.
