Strengths Report

Based on the Strengths Finder report from Gallup, I thrive in challenging environments
as I enjoy analyzing problems and finding solutions. Although I enjoy analyzing different
aspects of challenges encountered, I also value having the right confidence to solve problems
that I have encountered in the past. In such a context, I find the greatest push and motivation
when faced with unfamiliar and complex problems that nudge me out of my comfort zone. I
am also accepting of others and show awareness of people who feel out, a trait which Gallup
refers to as an includer. From the book, an includer personality is a strength for leaders who
are effective at execution. According to (Rath & Conchie, 2008) , execution is determined by
how well we achieve individual objectives and goals. Reflecting on my experiences in both
school work and personal level, I enjoy challenging myself and others around me in
accomplishing a difficult goal.
Another strength is that I have a positive trait and project enthusiasm that is contagious.
This keeps me in an upbeat mood and get others excited about activities. Furthermore, this
trait is also based on my ability to accumulate personal wealth, especially in a group setting
where I get to share ideas. I naturally tend to have many ideas. In addition, I am more
practical and think through problems step by step. According to Gallup, this strength is
referred to as harmony and is exhibited through behaviors such as looking for consensus,
treating everyone fairly and equally, and unifying people in conflict (Gallup, 2020) .
Basically, I prefer when people are predictable and calm, such that it is not alarming nor
frustrating. I also enjoy learning about the past, which gives me an added advantage because I
can offer insights on behavioral patters that are cyclical, yet influential in our everyday lives.
I am fascinated about global discourses and enjoy learning and creating solutions that can
contribute positively to my community.

Despite the predomination of strengths in both personal and social level, I have
weakness such as being to talkative when expressing my opinions, which can often be
confusing and overwhelming to the listener. I also enjoy calm and peace to the extent that
external event directly affect my moods and how I generally feel about my abilities. I also
get easily frustrated when I cannot get people to collaborate because I am extremely team
work-oriented. Based on the themes identified from the report, I rely on “intelligence and
wisdom” experts to guide me towards solutions, and this makes me less creative and more
practical. However, most problems or issues warrant a creative thinker or a novel approach to
break a certain cycle of inefficiency. Thus, this is a weakness that I ought to work on.
I would address my weakness by first, embracing them and being aware of their
existence. Second, I would attempt to put myself in unfamiliar environments that I have no
control over. I would also pay more attention to my strengths in order to work around my
weaknesses with confidence. Like Marcus Buckingham puts it, people thrive more when they
capitalize on their strengths than weaknesses, which makes them overall effective people. It
would also be helpful to seek the help of a person I trust to delineate my weaknesses and
identify the steps that I can take to gradually overcome. Considering that I like sharing my
opinions in a way that can strike someone as condescending, I would aim to be an effective
listener.
I would use my strengths in leadership to establish collaborations and help my
followers find a sense of purpose. This would be attributable to my executing strength, which
I believe would play a crucial role in helping people around me feel more challenged to
accomplish individual goals and objectives. Overall, an effective leader is an effective
listener and is guided by the need to encourage others to unlock their potential, whereby my
strength as a natural orator would be an added advantage.
