Edmodo
My appreciation for Edmodo’s usefulness and application in the classroom set-up has
grown over the years; hence, the reason why I chose this tool. I have used this tool to share
presentation content in previous conferences, and I could not help but notice how this tool made
work easier not just for me but also to other conference participants. Edmodo is an excellent
learning tool in a digital classroom and is even more convenient because it does not have ads
despite being free. Since it has no ads, it provides a safe online environment for students. The
tool addresses the safety issues that most teachers raise when using technology to facilitate
learning. Safety and privacy are fundamental issues in a digital classroom, and this tool ensures
that content accessed by students is learner-friendly. Another factor that motivated me to choose
Edmodo is that it is easy to use. Students learn how to use this tool fast because it has features
such as FAQs and Quick Guides, which make it easy to get started.
Using Edmodo in Class
Edmodo has several features that make it easy to communicate with both the students and
parents. First, I will use the tool to share information with the students and allow them, students,
to communicate amongst themselves. The tool provides a platform for students to ask each other
questions and respond to questions asked. Students will respond to each other, and this will
reduce the number of e-mail messages sent to me. I will only respond to the more difficult
questions that challenge the students. Secondly, I will use Edmodo to create small groups within
which students can complete class assignments. Each group will individualize their space where
they can work and share ideas, articles, and resources with one another. It is relevant when

conducting research. I will also use Edmodo to give assignments to students and grade them.
Will post assignment on Edmodo and students will be able to upload them in the same site upon
completion. Using the easy-to-complete touchscreen device, I will grade the assignments.
Students can then access their grades. Teaching and learning will be easy with Edmodo.
Advantages of using technology tools to communicate with parents and students
Technology makes it possible to establish a clear line of communication with the parents,
and this is essential for student success. Effective communication helps enhance understanding
and creates a firm relationship between the teachers and the parents. Proactive communication
helps build trust by keeping parents abreast with the progress of their students. Using technology
to communicate with the parent eliminates the language barrier in case a teacher is
communicating with parents who do not understand his or her primary language. The technology
efficiently ensures that parents get involved in tracking the progress of their children while at the
same time saving the teacher’s valuable time. It enhances transparency and makes the parent feel
that they are also part of the children’s education. Other than paying school fees, parents become
part of their children’s education life. Technology facilitates communication between the
teachers and parents who could be disabled. It saves them the trouble of having to go to school
for official communication. Overall, the use of technology to communicate with the parents
enhances a good rapport between the school administration, teachers, and parents.
