Carmen is strengthening spiritual wellness and social wellness. Spiritual wellness has
different definitions. However, it refers to being connected to something that is perceived
as greater. Spiritual wellness results in individuals having a sense of meaning and purpose. In many
people, spiritual wellness is equated to having strong religious beliefs. Religious beliefs give
one a sense of purpose and give one a set of values that guide human actions. Carmen
has strong spiritual values and beliefs. These strong spiritual values and beliefs contribute to
spiritual wellness.
Carmen is also strengthening social wellness. Social wellness alludes to the maintenance
of meaningful relationships. Through the maintenance of meaningful relationships, one creates a
strong social network of friends. Social health enables one to interact freely with other
individuals, and this ensures that one has the much-needed emotional security. Carmen has a
strong social circle that consists of three close friends. These friends enable her to maintain
social wellness.
Dimensions that Carmen Needs to Improve
Carmen needs to improve on various dimensions of wellness, including physical
wellness, emotional wellness, intellectual wellness, and financial wellness. Physical wellness
alludes to behaviors that are meant to ensure that the body remains healthy (Powers & Dodd,
2017). Maintaining a perfect body weight as well, and physical fitness are important aspects of
physical wellness. One needs to ensure that they invest in the two to reduce the risk of various
diseases, including type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Carmen does not exercise, and this puts her

at risk of getting various diseases. She has also failed to embrace healthy eating and takes fast
foods five days a week. She does not eat vegetables or fruits. To this end, she needs to change
her behaviors in order to achieve physical wellness.
Emotional wellness alludes to maintaining positive emotions. Emotional wellness also
refers to one’s ability to cope with everyday stressors. One needs emotional stability to cope with
everyday stressors (Powers & Dodd, 2017). Life is filled with many ups and downs, and this
means that the inability to handle problems that one encounters in life can result in problems,
including depression and anxiety. Carmen feels stressed most of the time, and this means that she
has not achieved emotional stability. Intellectual wellness is the ability to keep the mind active.
One can achieve intellectual wellness through life-long learning. Enrolling for a program in
college can help ensure that one attains intellectual wellness. Continuous learning helps one
achieve a sense of fulfillment. Carmen would love to go back to school and continue with her
journey of continuous learning. However, she is yet to enroll in a program that would ensure that
she fulfills this goal.
Carmen is also yet to achieve environmental wellness. Although she feels that she cares
about the environment, she does not recycle, and this means that she is contributing to
environmental degradation through pollution. She is yet to achieve financial wellness. Financial
wellness is the ability to live comfortably on one’s income. Attaining financial wellness means
that one can save for emergencies. At the moment, Carmen is struggling to pay bills, and this
means that she cannot afford to save for emergencies.
Diseases Carmen is at Risk for Due to Poor Lifestyle Habits
Carmen is at risk of getting type 2 diabetes, heart diseases, and depression.

Healthy Lifestyle Recommendations
Carmen should engage in physical exercises. Physical exercises will help her achieve
physical wellness. Through physical exercises, she will be able to maintain a healthy weight, and
this will ensure that she alleviates the risk of various lifestyle diseases. Carmen should also cut
back on fast food (Greenberg, Dintiman, & Oakes, 2004). Fast food is unhealthy since it contains
high-fat content. She should instead consider healthier options, including fruits and vegetables.
Healthy eating can help her achieve better results (Greenberg, Dintiman, & Oakes, 2004).
Physical wellness can only be achieved if she stops unhealthy eating and instead concentrates on
healthy eating habits.
How Carmen can Manage her Finances Better
Financial management is built on solid planning. Managing one’s finances can only be
achieved is one plan in advance. Carmen should create a budget and ensure that she sticks to the
budget (Joo, 2008). The budget should factor in important financial obligations. In addition,
Carmen should ensure that she saves some money for emergencies. One of the main problems
associated with financial planning is the failure to save money and spending everything.
Emergencies are bound to occur, and this means that one needs to save for an unprecedented
future (Joo, 2008). While one may not be earning a lot, saving is important.
