The Holocaust

request of the Holocaust survivors. Notably, the Holocaust survivors asked the Yad Vashem
memorial center to investigate the issues about the stamps. Also, the news explains that most
victims who were tattooed with the stamps at Auschwitz were mistaken to be Jews even though
they were not of Jewish origin (BBC News). It is vital to acknowledge that the booklet that was
used together with the kit was printed in 1949. During this period, Nazi Germany killed over one
million Jews in their camps during World War III.
Additionally, the news article explains that other groups of people faced death, including
Poland civilians, Soviet prisoners, and other political prisoners. Remarkably, the stamps that
were put on sale were described as spectacular by one of the auctioneers. Also, the kit used at the
camp was used for tattooing other people, including Jewish inmates (BBC News). Notably, the
kit used in the tattooing process was one of the three that have been known to exist. The sale of
the stamps was brought to a halt because some of the people, such as Mr. Tzolman, believed that
they would land in the wrong hands.
Further, the stamps and the kit were evil, as stated by the Holocaust survivors in Israel.
On some occasions, the stamps were used by farmers on their livestock in the early 19 th century.
At some point, the number of tattooed individuals with the stamps increased dramatically. Also,
the article explains that a report stated the stamps used to tattoo Soviet prisoners were stored in

Russia, and thus there is minimal proof that they were used there was used for tattooing Jews
(BBC News).
