Which stages of the writing process do you spend the most time on?

Writing is founded on critical reading. Without critical reading, one cannot write a strong
essay. As a result, anyone who wants to be a good writer needs to engage in high levels of
reading. It is through reading that one is able to formulate informed judgments and conclusions.
Critical reading goes beyond analyzing information published in a source. It involves
understanding the central claims advanced by the authors. It also involves analyzing the context
of the information that is published in a source. The reasoning employed by the authors must
also be defined before formulating judgments. A writer must also understand the evidence that
the authors rely on to back their claims.
How do you read, take notes, and generate material?
One first needs to understand the material through reading through the text. Then one
needs to reread the text while taking important notes on the same.
